Risk Factors:
- Body mass index > 23
- Above 35yrs of age
- Have had gestational diabetes
- Family history of diabetes
Complication:
- Eye problems
- Heart attack – MI
- Heart failure
- Stroke
- Kidney problem
- Nerve problems
- Foot ulcers
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Gum diseases
It is advisable that those who have the above symptoms and risk factors should get their blood tested to ensure that their blood sugar is normal.
